I'll announce the random winner of the doll at the top in email on Friday,
the email that also includes all the dresses!

trend: wild

So here's Dwight from 'The Office' US.
In ONE visit to the thrift store a few weeks ago, I found a bunch of animal (especially wolf) tshirts. I wonder if they all belonged to the same person? It's funny how trends work.
Today, I'm flipping through a special Fall/Winter 2011 Harper's Bazaar issue and see more 'wild' animals.
And then you'll see all the dresses I made from this stack. (These have all been purchased.)
Happy hunting [t-shirts] !

stella neptune in Chicago!

Met my gal Eva of Stella Neptune at Randolph Street Market!

She upcycles cashmere!

Living in Chicago, cashmere is ideal all Winter since it's so warm and lightweight. I was SO excited to find cool, upcycled cashmere. I own the 'living the dream' print and wear it all the time!

I couldn't decide between the 'buck' and the clown. Still thinking about the clown, but I got this one below :D

Eva also makes these upcycled cashmere patches you can simply iron over holes in your sweaters. I applied a few to the dress you see at the bottom. (Dress not for sale.)
My boyfriend chose the bandaid ones!

Check them out here:

It will make a collector out of you. Let's hope these fabrics are being sewn into some great pieces!

"I just got an order from one of CC's customer's for a doll of her daughter wearing her CC dress! It was so fun to create! I will be happy to make custom dolls like these. Some of her designs are intricate, so I will do my best to design something in it's likeness!"

sophie and lili : capsule collection

HELLO dolly!
Aren't they cheery?

I have known Jennifer of Sophie and Lili for a few years now! She was one of the first customers of my etsy store - back when I was on etsy! (I just looked, December 2007!?!) When I recognized the S&L name, I was so honored!!! I was brand new to the childrens fashion scene and she was so friendly and helpful! When I look back, it's actually kind of rare to find that :/ Thanks for being so sincere.

Fast forward to 2011.

Ya'll know I sew knits. But lately I've been playing with regular cotton (I don't even know what it's called) but it has little or no stretch, and it's gotta be soft cotton, not itchy decorator cotton. I asked Jennifer if she had any extra pieces of fabric with her sweet doll prints, and I made these two pieces for her girls! (These are not for sale or order.)

We're working on a little collection, sizes 12m-5T, as always one-of-a-kind, and *hope* to have these ready to buy before the holidays.
Please sign up for my emails! This mini-collection, as all other dresses, are shared this way.
And make sure to select your sizes!

hearts in australia

Over the years I've kept any sizable scrap of fabric that I've silkscreened on; I love how the small pieces graphically make a larger impression.

What a cute little family!!! Thank you!!!

retro animals : panda

I recently found this retro animal bedsheet at the thrift store (which kicked off a whole new obsession....) and have been enjoying incorporating the animals into my dresses.
There's bunnies, squirrels, raccoons and pandas!

If you don't know already, I'm a KNIT girl, so using a sheet is a little bit of a stretch to me (hee hee), but I'm learning. I think they turned out pretty nice!
Sign up for my emails and you'll see more retro animal dresses in your inbox:

Miss Serenity is styling (as usual!) in her panda flutter sleeve!
Thank you!!

owl long cardigan

Kristin of klt:works sent me this oops owl cardigan a while back!
http://www.etsy.com/listing/55518896/owl-cardigan-for-toddlers

I lengthened it by adding fabric from a women's dress, you know the type of jumper that has buttons down the entire front center!
Love it for layering!
